Dulwich House, London
The remodelling and extension of a Victorian terraced house in Dulwich.
The project replaced a previous extension and further extended into the side return, creating a more generous and coherent ground floor layout.
The extension is constructed in exposed London stock brick, with exposed in-situ cast concrete structural beams creating large open spaces and openings out into the garden. Large circular and rectangular skylights are also inserted to allow light into the internal spaces and a new stair is inserted to connect the extension to the main body of the house. Precise Maple veneered joinery and cabinetry contrasts with the warm rawness of the the exposed brick and concrete.
