Ladbroke Hall New Gallery
A new gallery for the Ladbroke Hall London arts centre. This celebrated arts centre and venue occupies the Grade 2 listed historic former Sunbeam Talbot factory in North Kensington and has been undertaking an extensive programme of refurbishment and extension to provide additional galleries and amenity space. This ambitious project will accommodate a gallery, a function space and feature wine cellar over three levels, extending into a deep basement. The roof of the subterranean areas has been designed to a support a landscaped extension to the garden. The sub and superstructures are now complete and interiors is currently being fitted-out stage.
This deep basement utilises a contiguous bored piled wall technique with a concrete lining and an internal reinforced concrete structure to retain the excavated void within the London clay. It was very carefully designed and sequenced to ensure that no damage occurs to the adjacent listed building, private housing or the highway during construction.
