The Curve House, Chelsea, London

Extensive carefully considered and structural works were required to this Victorian house, located in a conservation area. The lower ground floor level was extended and lowered and a new basement level created using underpinning. An exquisite curved glass bronze-clad side-rear extension was inserted at the raised ground floor to create a seamless connection between old and new. Beneath it, the curve extends into the lower ground floor, elegantly linking the kitchen and family rooms while discreetly concealing the pantry within finely crafted joinery.

The discreet structural interventions have created a large amount of additional floor space thus maximising the potential of the plot, whilst creating airy and open volumes that are bespoke, unique and respect the historic character of the existing building.
