Artists House, St Johns Wood 

The project involved careful internal remodelling work to a 1950’s era self-build house. As substantial demolition was unacceptable to the local authority we had to retain and work with the existing envelope and structure. However the ground floor layout internally was extensively changed and the rear of the house extended and opened up with full width glazing onto the garden. 

The stairwell was relocated and replaced with a delicate and elegantly engineered and detailed spiral staircase. Further double height glazing was introduced adjacent to the stairwell bringing natural light into the heart of the house.
