Canada Water Station
Role: Structural engineer for Robert Benaim and Associates
The Jubilee line chief architect Roland Paoletti employed great designers including Norman Foster, Michael Hopkins, Ian Ritchie, Ron Herron, Chris Wilkinson and Richard MacCormac to design and deliver the new Jubilee line stations. After the sudden death of Ron Herron, co-founder of Archigram, the Canada Water station design was taken ‘in-house’ by the JLEP design team who developed a spectacular entrance rotunda and an above ground bus station interchange. The work that was developed for the Jubilee Line Extension Project has re-invigorated London Underground’s tradition of design and quality in transport environments.
Robert Benain and Associates were responsible for the design of all of the below ground structures and civil works, all in insitu concrete.
