Selfridges Refurbishment, London

Role: Project Engineer for Robert Benaim Associates

The £6 million pound revamp of the central atrium including the instillation and structural support of new escalators and lifts for this prestigious department store in Oxford Street in London’s West End. The project presented huge logistical challenges with access challenges requiring carefully sized prefabricated components designed to be wheeled through the store at night time - all installed into a tight, centrally located atrium. Robert Benaim was one of the UKs most eminent structural engineers, a pioneer of pre-stressed tunnel and bridge building.

BCIA Construction Industry Award, Shortlisted, 1998.
